East Carter tennis results

April 23, 2014 — The East Carter tennis teams traveled to Ashland this past Friday to take on Rose Hill. The girls lost 3-2 and the boys fell to the Royals, 4-1.

In the girls singles, Emily Porter lost to Madison Lett 8-0, Aliya Lewis fell to Kierstin Weyeier 8-2 and Kaitlyn Conley was blanked by Katie Shumway 8-0.

In the girls doubles, Amber Hall and Makenzie Hayes rallied to defeat Sarah Powell and Myriah Porter 9-8 (7-4). Sarah Hall and Madison Prater defeated Mareah Cartmill and Paige Brammer 8-1.

In the boys singles matches against the Royals, Marcus Harris had no trouble with Zach Whit, winning 8-0. Logan Moore blanked Jarrett Cartmill 6-0. East’s Jonathan Seagraves lost to David Bush 8-0, Shawn Greenhill fell to Spencer Lett 8-2 and Carter Waugh fell just short to Brett Smith 8-5.

Rose Hill swept all three doubles matches. Zach Kiser and Josh Porter lost to David Stringer and Nathan Reynolds 8-0. Tanner Sammons and Mason Tomaselli lost to Elijah Daniels and Austin Taylor 8-0, and Josh and Caleb Kiser 6-4 beat Noah Sammons and Brandon Dyer.

Both teams are now 5-6 on the season.
