KCU women’s basketball drops contest to Morehead State

(Continued)

Nov. 6, 2013 —

“She had a great game and all three officials stopped by and were very complementary of her play,” Arnett said.

“She’s really good,” MSU head coach Tom Hodges said. “At some points we offered pretty good resistance and she made tough shots. She has an aggressive mindset similar to Allie, Terrice and Alemsha (Jones). She proved why she is one of the most decorated players in their historic program.”

In the second half, the Eagle defensive pressure got to the Lady Knights. KCU had 24 turnovers in the game.

“They pressured us for 40 minutes and I don’t blame them,” Arnett said. “It helped us because we’re going to see that type of defense all year so we won’t be surprised by anything.”

KCU shot 47 percent from the field and connected on 50 percent of their three-point shots.

MSU and KCU both grabbed 26 rebounds but the Eagles took 17 offensive boards and turned them into 13 second chance points.

Robinson lead five MSU players in double figures with 23 points. Turner added 17 points for the Eagles.

KCU opened the 2013-14 season this past Saturday, defeating Central Christian College of the Bible 84-43. They played at Alice Lloyd Tuesday night.

“We are very excited,” Arnett said. “We’re having great practices and t they’re pumped up and if we stay healthy I think we’ll have a good year.”
