East Carter will host Greenup County in Grayson on Thursday at 7 p.m. and will participate in the Citizens Bank Volleyball Throwdown at Bath County this weekend. From there, they will host Fairview Monday at 7:30 p.m.

West Carter boys soccer takes down Elliott County

The West Carter boys soccer team had to finish a game with Elliott County before the next scheduled game started and the Comets came away with two victories over the Lions.

In a game that was called for darkness a few weeks ago, West defeated Elliott 10-2. In the second game, the Comets downed the Lions 4-1 to have a 16th Region’s best seventh win of the year.

In the shortened game, West had four goals from Troy Brickles, three goals from Tyler Glover, two from Peyton Adkins and Daniel Dehart had one. Glover finished the game with five assists. Cody James and Blade Conley each earned one assist each.

In the second game, Brickles and Glover added two more goals en route to a 4-1 victory. Glover added two assists while Brickles had one and Hunter Adams added an assist.

However, West Carter dropped a 3-1 decision to Bath County on Monday. They played at Boyd County on Tuesday. They will return home for a game against St. Patrick on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before hosting Paintsville on Saturday in the All “A” State sectional on Saturday at 5 p.m.
