From then on, it was all Bath. Cable Wright ended the game a two-run walk-off homerun to give the Wildcats (15-5) the ten run rule.
“For the first few innings, it was a ballgame,” Brown said. “In that fourth inning, things really fell apart. I guess part of that can be contributed to having a young ball team, but we shouldn’t be making those type of plays this late in the season.”
“I really feel like we should have won this game,” Johnson said. “But the errors were the difference and hopefully we’ll learn from this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
West Carter did not have time to lick their wounds as they hosted East Carter on Tuesday. The Comets play at Fleming County on Friday.
