While Macy Dyer is best known for her abilities with a soccer ball, she is also making a pretty big splash on the cross country course.
Sept. 26 the cross country Raiders went to Fairview where the girls team came in third, while Dyer nabbed another first place finish on the season, beating not only her own personal record for time completed, but also setting a new course record. Kadie Chaffin finished third.
Last Tuesday marked another successful outing for the blue and white runners, this time nabbing a first place finish for the team. Dyer placed first in the event, pacing herself to stride far ahead of any potential competitor. Chafin once again finished third, while Delancy Morse rounded out the top-ten East Carter finishes in eighth.
Dyer is currently ranked first among regional cross country runners by Journal-Times’ sister paper, the Ashland Daily Independent, with an average time of 20:19.0.
