April 3, 2013 — Baseball:

1. Lewis County (5-1)

2. Morgan County (6-0)

3. Bath County (6-1)

4. Ashland (2-1)

5. East Carter (3-4)

6. Boyd County (3-4)

7. Greenup County (4-1)

8. Russell (4-4)

After a stunning loss to Raceland, the Tomcats fall from first to fourth. Lewis County assumes the top spot in the Crazy 8 after earning wins over Fleming County and Mason County last week. But watch out for upstart Morgan County, who boasts a 6-0 record heading in to this week’s games.

Softball:

1. East Carter (9-0)

2. Boyd County (4-2)

3. Menifee County (7-3)

4. Ashland (3-2)

5. Rowan County (7-2)

6. West Carter (2-0)

7. Fleming County (5-3)

8. Greenup County (5-2)

The East Carter Lady Raiders are flat out smacking the ball. East is averaging almost 10 runs per game heading into Monday’s contests. Menifee County seems to be the biggest surprise in the region thus far, amassing a 7-3 record after the first two weeks. With spring break for a lot of the area schools taking place, most of the 16th Region Teams have migrated south to Florida and Tennessee for tournaments.
