By MacKenzie Bates - Sports Editor

Oct. 9, 2013 — 1. Fairview (6-0)

2. Ashland (5-2)

3. Lawrence County (6-1)

4. Mason County (6-0)

5. Raceland (4-2)

6. Russell (4-2)

7. Lewis County (4-2)

8. Morgan County (3-3)

There is just something about those Fairview Eagles.

They were down late in the fourth quarter to the Pike County Central Hawks when they turned out one of the best comebacks some have seen in a while, winning 44-37 on the road. That gives Fairview their 27 straight wins in the regular season. They play 5-1 Paintsville this Friday.

Ashland, Lawrence and Mason County all won so there is no change in the top four. Raceland was on a bye week so they stay put at five.

Russell jumps over Lewis County as the Red Devils defeated Fleming County while the Lions were handed a 50-19 loss to Mason. Keep an eye out for top 8 matchup as Russell travels to Mason County. Both are 2-0 in Class 3A District 6.

Morgan County jumps back in the Crazy 8 after pulling out a 20-8 win over Jackson County.
