East Carter would finally get the goose egg off the board when quarterback Cole McClain found Kyle Yates on a 35-yard touchdown pass to make it 36-7. It was the third game Yates hit pay dirt for the Raiders.
“When you’re small and you’re not as fast as some other folks, you’ve got to be tough,” Moore said. “Kyle is a tough little guy. I was glad he was able to break a tackle and keep his balance to get in the end zone.”
Moore said there were things that his team did well hidden throughout the game but wants more consistency. The Raiders have rival West Carter Friday and wants them to come out this week with a lot of intensity.
“If our football program wants to move forward from here on out, people are going to have to wake up and understand that you don’t show up in July and play football anymore and expect to win,” Moore said. “You do it all year round and develop physically and if you don’t then you’re going to be looking at what we looked at (Friday).”
