East tennis serves up early-season success

The East Carter Tennis Team played in these matches in the last week.

In Monday’s tennis match versus Raceland, played at East Carter Middle School Courts, the first official high school tennis match played on the home courts, the East Carter girls team won 7 - 2 and the boys team tied

3 – 3.

In Saturday’s tennis tri-match versus Ashland and Greenup Co., played at the Ashland Tennis Center, the East Carter girls team lost to Ashland 4 - 0 but defeated Greenup Co. 3 – 2. The boys team beat Ashland 3 – 1 and Greenup Co. 1 - 0.

#1 Spencer Johnson 6 – 3, 6 – 1 over Stephen Metcalf who beat Spencer in the finals of the Pre-Regional tournament earlier this season.
