Zackery William McGlone
1990-2008
OLIVE HILL - Zackery William McGlone, age 17, of Jordan Fork Road, Olive Hill, passed away Thursday evening, September 11, at his residence.
Zack was born October 12, 1990, in Montgomery County, a son of William Clint McGlone and Lillian Williams Martin both of Olive Hill.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers, Josh McGlone, Michael McGlone, Jacob McGlone all of Olive Hill, and Gabriel James of Grayson; two sisters, Patricia Jackson of Grayson, and Rachel Neighbors of Olive Hill; paternal grandparents, Clinton and Hazel James McGlone of Olive Hill; maternal grandparents, Morris and Audrey Logan Williams of Olive Hill; he also leaves behind several other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Lowell Webb and Brother Junior Logan officiating. Burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Joshua McGlone, Michael McGlone, Jacob McGlone, Bryan Rose, Eugene Dean, and Richard Holbrook served as pallbearers.
James Clifton “J.C.” Mullins, Sr.
1944-2008
SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA – Mr. James Clifton “J.C.” Mullins, Sr., 63, of Shreveport, Louisiana, formerly of Olive Hill and Hartford City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday morning, September 3, at his residence in Louisiana.
Mr. Mullins was born November 30, 1944, in Carter County, a son of the late Ray Mullins and Eunice Jackson Mullins Griffey.
He was an active employee for more than thirty-nine years at the General Motors Corporation in Louisiana. J.C. served his country with the United States Army and the Army National Guard. He was also a diehard UK fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patti Brown; twin grandsons, Cody and Garrett Mullins.
J.C. is survived by two sons, James Clifton Mullins, Jr. and wife Geisi of Jacksonville, Florida and Jeffery Mullins and fiancé Carole Salerno of Pleasanton, California; one granddaughter, Kirsten Little of Addison, Michigan; two brothers and sister-in-law, Dean Mullins of Tampa, Florida, Buck and Anna Mullins of Ashland; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Grace Rogers of Ashland, Janet and Clyde Wilson of Olive Hill, Barbara and Norman Eaton of Columbus, Ohio; he also leaves several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother J. C. Bond officiating. Burial followed in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Kevin Gene Wilburn
1955-2008
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA – Mr. Kevin Gene Wilburn, age 53, of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, formerly of Olive Hill, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday morning, September 9, at his residence in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Wilburn was born July 30, 1955, in Boyd County, a son of the late Gene and Betty Jo Abrams Wilburn.
Kevin was a devoted husband, loving father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He has been a Christian since the age of nineteen and was a member of the Grace Community Church. He worked as a Quality Control Engineer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Alicia Wilburn.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Sharon Erndt Wilburn; one son, Joshua Wilburn and his fiancé Nalinee of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Miranda Wilburn of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, and Jessica Wilburn of Olive Hill; one brother and sister-in-law, Kirk and Sue Wilburn of Olive Hill; one sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Ted Withrow of Morehead; he also leaves several other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Saturday, September 13, at the Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Hill, with Brother Gary Sparks officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill was in charge of all arrangements.
Lillian Lucille James Cannon
1934-2008
OLIVE HILL – Mrs. Lillian Lucille James Cannon, age 74, of Olive Hill, passed away Thursday morning, September 11, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Cannon was born January 12, 1934, in Carter County, a daughter of the late David and Lovell Stamper James.
Lucille was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Fred Wilburn, James Geedey, and Harry L. Cannon; one sister, Charlene Lyons; two grandchildren, Tracy Wilburn and David Dewayne Cannon.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws, David and Gractia Wilburn of Shelbyville, Indiana, Bobby and Beth Wilburn of Circleville, Ohio; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Sue and Howard Spencer of Grove Port, Ohio, Charlotte Gail and Jim Seidle of Asheville, Ohio, Cathy Jo and James Chapman of Grayson, Shelia Ann Wilburn, Vivian Lynn and John Paul Clay all of Olive Hill, Trena Louise and Brian Riggs of Cornith, Mississippi, Sandra Kay and Allan Langlois of New Port, North Carolina; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Ray and Patty James of Columbus, Ohio, David Arvin and Deloris James of Paducah, Carrollyn and Helen James of Mount Sterling; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Carmel Lowe of Olive Hill, Phyllis Ann and O.C. Griffey of Elpaso, Texas, Jene James of New Tazwell, Tennessee, Calris and Bob Parker of Goshen, Ohio; she also leaves several nieces, nephews, other family members, neighbors, and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 13, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Clayton James officiating. Burial followed in the Valandingham Cemetery in Grahn.
Bert Dale Rice
1939-2008
GRAYSON – Bert Dale Rice, 68, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 10, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
He was born December 17, 1939 at Mayhew Flats in Grayson, a son of the late Orville and Bertha Stewart Rice.
He was retired from Bartlett Tree Company and was a born again Christian for over 30 years.
His survivors include his wife, Anna Wheeler Rice of Grayson; one son, Rick (Candy) Rice of Grayson; one granddaughter, Amy (Brad) Prewitt of Grayson; and one sister, Minnie Isaacs of Grayson.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 13, at 2 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Lester Bowling and Kenny Walker, officiating. Burial followed in the Rice Family Cemetery.
Carma E. McFarland
1929-2008
GRAHN - Carma E. McFarland, 79, formerly of Grahn, died Tuesday, September 9. She passed away while living at Heritage Care Nursing Center in Shelby, Ohio.
She was born March 23, 1929 near Olive Hill.
A retired seamstress, Carma lived most of her life in and around Grahn, moving to Ohio in 1991 to be near family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Patience (Reger) McFarland of Shelby, Ohio; two granddaughters, Kara Elyse McFarland of Shelby, Ohio and Erin (Nate) Berens of Wyoming, Michigan; one sister, Juanita (Clifford) Litteral of Mansfield, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert and Cora (Helvy) McFarland; one sister, Wilma K. (Albert) Jones; and one brother, Willard (Louise) McFarland.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Thursday, September 11, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett. Burial followed Friday at 1 p.m. in Reynolds Cemetery, Blueberry Ridge Road in Olive Hill.
