Nettie Carroll Bear
1944-2008
OLIVE HILL Ð Nettie Carroll Bear, age 63, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday, April 4, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 25, 1944 in Elliott County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Lizzie Thornsberry Carroll.
Nettie was a homemaker, and a Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, friend, and neighbor to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ova ÒYogiÓ Bear; one son, James Douglas Colley and one brother, Tommy Carroll.
Nettie is survived by two sons, Ova Shannon Bear and his wife, Candace of Lexington and Chris Colley and his wife, April of Winchester; one daughter, Lisa Kiser of Olive Hill; three brothers, Zion Carroll of Alliance, Ohio, Lonnie Carroll of Grayson and Norwood Carroll of Olive Hill; three sisters, Nona Hurley of Olive Hill, Virgie Crockett of Columbus, Ohio, and Dazel Rodgers of Olive Hill; four grandchildren, Mitchell Kiser, Carissa Colley, Chelsea Colley and Charity Colley; and a very special friend, Debra Burchett; she is also survived by several step-children and grandchildren and a multitude of other close family members, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, at 1 p.m. at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill. Brother Gray Sparks officiated the service. Burial followed in the Bear Family Cemetery.

Ina Bernice Patton Hamm
1934-2008
OLIVE HILL Ð Mrs. Ina Bernice Patton Hamm, age 73, of Virginia Avenue, Olive Hill, passed away Friday afternoon, April 4, at the Saint Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Mrs. Hamm was born August 10, 1934, in Solider, and the daughter of the late Ollie Ralph and Birtha Mayse Patton.
Bernice was founder and former partner of Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill. She was a homemaker and a Christian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-seven years and founder and former owner of Globe Funeral Chapel, Gene Hamm, October 9, 1988.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Marlena Bond of Olive Hill; one grandson, Travis Lee Gene Bond of Olive Hill; also her special dog, Fox; several cousins and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill. Brother Delmar Logan, Jr. and Brother Bobby Day officiated the service. Burial followed in the Bradley Cemetery on Dry Branch Road in Olive Hill.
Ora Lee Cox, Earl Lee Cox, Phillip Cox, Jeff Davis, Danny Evans, Mike Evans, Grady Evans, and Gene Evans served as pallbearers.

Michael Anthony Stone
1956-2008
VANCEBURG Ð Mr. Michael Anthony Stone, age 52, of Laurel Creek Road, Vanceburg, passed away Friday morning, April 4, at his residence.
Mr. Stone was born March 20, 1956, in Crawford County, Ohio, and is a son of Arnold and Clara Lee Bloomfield Stone of Vanceburg.
Michael was a self-employed truck driver and R. and M. Dispatching Service. His entire life he enjoyed driving. As a teenager, a dare devil in cars and on bikes, four wheelers, and what ever else he could get to go. His profession as a truck driver was one he enjoyed for many years. Seeing new country on long hauls was his passion.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Essie Nolan Stone; maternal grandparents, James and Lilly Dyer Bloomfield; mother-in-law, Stella Edington Butler; one sister-in-law, Nancy Marylee Davis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Rita Butler Stone; one son, Travis Ryan Stone of Vanceburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Linda Stone of Vanceburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Lula Richmond Butler of Vanceburg; two sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Roger Hardeman of Vanceburg, Christy and Barry Click of Galion, Ohio; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George Butler, Donnie and Earleen Butler, Duane and Pam Butler all of Vanceburg; three very special nieces and a nephew, Brittany McClurg, Rikki Lynn Stone and Jason and wife Misty Stone; eleven other nieces and nephews and eighteen great-nieces and nephews; he also leaves a host of other family members, neighbors, and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 7, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix. Brother Ronnie Enix and Brother Greg Howard officiated the service. Burial followed in the Smith-Gilliam Cemetery on Laurel in Lewis County.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Klotine Wagoner
1917-2008
ISONVILLE Ð Mrs. Klotine Wagoner, age 90, of Isonville, passed away Wednesday morning, April 2, in the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
Mrs. Wagoner was born October 12, 1917 in Elliott County, a daughter of the late John Corbin and Vada Burton Wagoner.
Klotine was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Wagoner; one daughter, Vellis Evelyn Wagoner; two brothers, Walter Wagoner and Charles Wagoner; One sister, Leah Chlorine Jones; one grandson, Luther Eugene Wellman; one great-grandson, Jeffery Flaugher, Jr.; five great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lee and Elouise Wagoner of Sumterville, Florida and Elmo and Sylvia Wagoner of Isonville; one uncle, Luther Wagoner of Hillsboro; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren, nineteen great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the chapel of the Waddell and Whitt Funeral Home. Brother Billy T. Rice officiated the service. Burial followed in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook.

Hazel Irene Lucas
1929-2008
RUSH - Hazel Irene Lucas 78 of Rush, left this Earth April 4, to rejoice in Heaven with her husband of 57 years, Clarence Eugene (Bug) Lucas.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and Grandmother. She was a member of the Kilgore United Methodist Church.
She was born December 11,1929 in Carter County, a daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (McWhorter) Davis.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Norman (Russ) Davis; one sister, Lois Adkins. Her survivors include one son, Charlie (Lucretia) Lucas of Whitesville, West Virginia; two daughters, Susie (Eddie) Conley and Sarah Jo Savage both of Rush; one brother, Harvey (Linda) Davis of Rush; three sisters, Jenny Carroll of Hitchins, Margie Carroll of Rush and Linda (Ronnie) Jones of Ashland; four grandchildren, Christie (Shannon) Wells, Susan Ferguson of Rush, Jamie (Donna) Conley of Rockvale, Tennessee, Brandon (Amanda) Bowling of Whitesville, West Virginia; eight great-grandchildren, Seth, Alyssa, and Zach Wells, Wyatt Ferguson all of Rush, Lisa and Kyle Sanders, Brooke Conley all of Rockvale, Tennessee, Calleigh Bowling of Whitesville, West Virginia.
Funeral services were conducted Monday 1 p.m. at the Kilgore United Methodist Church by the Minister Fred Wiles. Burial followed in the East Carter County Memorial Gardens. Malone Funeral Home of Grayson is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Vernon Dorn, Sr.
1924-2008
CINCINNATI, OH Ð Charles Vernon Dorn, Sr., age 83, passed away Sunday, March 30.
He was the beloved husband of the late Vera Dorn (Adkins) and Elizabeth (Binion); dear father of Vera Ellen Hoppe and Charles V. Dorn, Jr.; grandfather of Christopher Robert Dorn and Douglas William Hoppe; great-grandfather of Nadia Renee Dorn; brother of Karl Dorn, Richard Dorn, and the late Victor and Velma Dorn.
Vernon was born in Casey, Co. in 1924. He served in the Military in the early 1940Õs. He also worked for Leugers Furniture for 20 years and was a published poet. Most recently he lived in eastern Ky, touring schools teaching creative writing and lecturing against drug and alcohol abuse. He played Abraham Lincoln in Memorial Day Parades and special functions and was loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at the John Jodapp Sons, Inc. Funeral Home.

Dixie Fyffe
1911-2008
WEBBVILLE - Dixie (Williams) Fyffe, 96, of Webbville, departed this life Saturday, April 5, at the Elliott County Nursing Home after an extended illness.
She was born September 21, 1911, in Johnson County, a daughter of the late Luke and Dora Williams.
She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Maranatha Bible Church where she exhibited her faith and faithfulness as long as she was able to travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Fyffe; a son, Loy Darwin Fyffe; seven brothers, Henry, Herb, Hood, Wayne, Odie, O.L. and Kendall Williams; one sister, Maxie Shepherd.
Her survivors include one son, Jesse Fyffe of Webbville; one daughter, Shelby Jean Butler of Springhill; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 7, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Maranatha Bible Church with Jesse Fyffe and Steve Owen, officiating. Burial was in the Maranatha Bible Church Cemetery. Malone Funeral Home in Grayson was in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Roseberry
1937-2008
BEAVER CREEK, OH Ð Mr. Charles Roseberry, age 70, of Beaver Creek, Ohio, formerly of Elliott County, passed away Tuesday morning, April 1, in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Roseberry was born September 23, 1937 in Elliott County, a son of the late John Tom and Carrie Lewis Roseberry.
Charles was of the Pentecostal faith and had worked many years as a roofer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Will Roseberry and J.C. Roseberry; three sisters, Dorothy Hill, Bessie Keeton and Effie Horton.
He is survived by his wife, Kelda June Combs Roseberry of Beaver Creek, Ohio; two daughters, Loretta Highfield of Sandy Hook, and Yvonne Poniciano of Beaver Creek, Ohio; three brothers, Herman Roseberry of Rogersville, Tennessee, Jimmy Roseberry of Kettering, Ohio and Ezra Roseberry of Grayson; one sister, Ruby Rose of Sandy Hook; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in the chapel of the Waddell and Whitt Funeral Home. Brother Eugene Haney and Brother Roger Keeton officiated the service. Burial followed in the Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Christine Elliott
Dickerson
1926-2008
LEON - Christine Elliott Dickerson, 81, of Leon in Carter County, passed away Monday morning, March 31, in Kings Daughters Medical Center.
She was born April 6, 1926 at Fultz, a daughter of the late George W. and Mahala Hall Elliott.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Fultz where
her father was pastor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Dickerson; two sons, Richard Knipp and George Dickerson; a daughter, Delores Hamilton; four brothers, Ovelon, Hillman, Glen and Chester Ray Elliott and two sisters, Hazel Gollihue and Esther Faye Elliott.
Her survivors include one daughter, Barbara Gifford of Mt. Washington; three sons, Gary L. Dickerson of Grayson, John Wesley Knipp of Mansfield, OH and Ronnie Dickerson of Leon; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 3, at 1 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Eugene Haney, minister. Burial followed in the Dickerson Family Cemetery.

Linda King Everman
1959-2008
GRAYSON - Linda King Everman, 49, of Grayson, passed away Monday, March 31, the results of an automobile accident.
She was born January 5, 1959 at Morehead, the daughter of Robert M. King of Grayson and the late Phyllis Griffith King.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny M. King and a sister, Iva J. King.
Linda was a paper carrier for The Independent and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two sons, Marshall C. Nelson and Arthur K. Nelson both of Grayson; one daughter, Ruth A. Nelson of West Virginia; three sisters, Frances (John) Nelson of Waterloo, OH, Edna (Paul) Nelson of Pedro, OH and Freida Hatfield of Owingsville; two brothers, Robert L. King and Alva (Becky) King both of Grayson; three grandsons; one granddaughter; 16 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; A special companion of 24 years, Timmy Ray Everman and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Ray Simmons, minister. Burial followed in the Fultz Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Oneda Roar Baker
1948-2008
DUBLIN, OH Ð Oneda Roar Baker, age 59, of Dublin, Ohio, beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away peacefully on April 4, while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 24, 1948 in Carter County, the daughter of the late Acy and Gertrude Mosier Roar.
She is survived by her six children, Arnold Baker of California, Robin Baker of Texas, Rhonda Baker, Angela Gagliardi, Teresa Alspach, and Michael Baker all of Ohio; her fifteen grandchildren; her brother, Phil Roar of Olive Hill; and a sister, Yvonne Landrum, of Ohio.
Oneda was a very artistic person who often showed her feelings through her paintings. She enjoyed doing crafts and making new creations for everyone. She was very loving and made a lasting impression on those who were blessed to know her. May the angels watch over you on your journey to your final resting place with the Lord Jesus Christ. You are in our hearts for eternity Mother.
Services for Ms. Baker were held Tuesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home. J.D. Riggs and Eury Barker officiated the service. Burial followed in the Roar Cemetery.

William David 'Bus' Mosier
1930-2008
GLENMONT, OH - Mr. William David "Bus" Mosier, age 77, of Glenmont, Ohio, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away, Monday morning March 17, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Mr. Mosier was born October 14, 1930, in Carter County, and is a son of the late William H. and Litha Mosier Mosier.
Bus spent most of his life in Ohio after growing up in Carter County. He was retired from the Ohio Brass Corporation in Mansfield, Ohio in 1986 after twenty-six years of service. He also had worked several years as an auto body repairman and a silo builder. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandson and side-kick Rick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Grover Mosier and Ersel Mosier; one infant sister.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Vickie Leadingham Mosier, whom he married March 25, 1985; one son and daughter-in-law, Micheal Sean and Amber Mosier of Mount Vernon, Ohio; three daughters, Jessica Leigh Mosier of Danville, Ohio, Wanda Mosier and Patty Grayson both of Reno, Nevada; nine grandchildren, Rick Mosier, Kirsten Harris, Savannah Harris, Rayven Harris, Andrew David Mosier, Kyle Duffy, Makaya Hoar, Sarah Mosier and Tammy Sammons; two great-granddaughters, Marissa Sammons and Zadie Mosier; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ernest E. and Emma Jean Mosier of Mansfield, Ohio and Lowell Mosier of Ashland, Ohio; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Barb and Roy Carroll of Mansfield, Ohio, Jewel and Ray Ison, Rose and Ron Kitts all of Ashland, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and other family members who will sadly miss him.
Funeral service were held 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Phillip Roe officiating. Burial followed in the Biggs Hill Cemetery on Highway US 60 in Olive Hill.
Jamie Frazier, Allen Frazier, Brian Frazier, Michael Mosier, Phillip Roe, Mackie Leadingham and Joe Davis served as pallbearers. Ricky Mosier served as honorary pallbearer.

Bonnie Sparks McCloud
1916 Ð 2008
GRAYSON - Bonnie Sparks MsCloud, 91, of Grayson died Wednesday evening, April 2, at Community Hospice in Ashland.
A graveside service was held on Saturday Morning, April 5, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. officiating the service the Rev. Linda McCloud.
