Randal R. Lucas, 23, and Virginia Spears, 32, both of Olive Hill, were arrested Saturday Jan. 19, for manufacturing methamphetamine, along with other charges.
The Kentucky State Police, Post District 14 received a tip of a suspected meth lab at the residence located on Laurel Lane.
When law enforcement arrived Spears was arrested and Lucas was found hiding under the bed. He then gave troopers false information attempting to conceal his identity as well as concealed needles on his body.
Troopers from Post 14 and the Drug Enforcement Special Investigation unit searched the home and found a meth lab, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
Lucas was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first degree possession of a controlled sub- stance, second degree wanton endangerment of an officer, giving false name or address, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lucas was also served with four unspecified bench warrants for court.
Spears is being charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to notify address change to the Department of Transportation.
Both are being housed in the Carter County Detention Center.
Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigation also responded and assisted. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Bryant Marcum.
