Northeast hosting program expo

Sept. 11, 2013 — Northeast Kentucky Community Action Agency is hosting a program expo on Monday in Grayson.

The event at the Grayson Conference Center goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature all of the different programs offered by Northeast.

Jerry Gifford is the director of housing rehabilitation, one of the programs offered at Northeast.

“People may not know that we offer home rehabilitation, which can be weatherization or changes to make a home handicapped accessible,” Gifford said. “Sometimes we do $15,000 to $30,000 worth of work on a home.”

The programs are income-based which can vary greatly.

The expo is totally free to the public and is sponsored by AEP, the Kentucky Housing Corporation, Grayson RECC, True Value, Lowe’s, Tri County Heating and Cooling, Gutter Time, James Do It Best, and Smith's Hardware and Construction.

Northeast offers 14 different programs to individuals living in Carter, Lawrence, Greenup and Boyd counties.
