Manhunt still on in Willard bank robbery

April 30, 2014 — Authorities are searching for information about a bank robbery in Willard on Monday.

Kentucky State Police at Ashland are investigating the robbery of the First National Bank branch office located on KY 1 in Willard. 

Just before 1 p.m., an unidentified male, armed with a firearm, entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller.  The male exited the bank and fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

At this time no additional descriptors are available. Neither photographs nor video are currently available for release.

As a precaution, the campuses of Heritage Elementary School and the Carter Christian Academy were locked down during the afternoon.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The following agencies responded and assisted during the course of the investigation: Kentucky State Police K-9, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and Carter County Sheriff’s Department.

The case remains under investigation by KSP Detective David Boarman.
