Oct. 16, 2013 — The Journal-Times has learned that Olive Hill City Attorney George Hogg is retiring effective Oct. 31.
Mayor Kenny Fankell confirmed the retirement in a telephone interview on Monday.
“What I can tell you is that George has filed all of his paperwork and informed me that he’ll be retiring at the end of the month,” the mayor said.
Hogg has been the city’s legal counsel for the past 10 years.
Fankell said he was prepared to make a recommendation for Hogg’s replacement to the City Council at Tuesday night’s meeting.
However, he declined to identify that attorney in advance.
Any recommendation made by Fankell to fill the position would require approval of the City Council.
