A 14-year-old male was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center last Thursday following an ATV accident.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Michael Wathen said the young male was driving a four-wheeler on US 60 in Carter County, between Evening Drive and Manor Drive shortly before 8 p.m.
The boy has been identified as Roger Fischer Jr.
Amanda Garris, 32, of Olive Hill was driving west on US 60 when she struck the ATV. The driver stated she was unable to see the four-wheeler because it had no lights.
Fischer was ejected into a ditch a few feet from the roadway.
Vehicles driving east on US 60 saw the accident, stopped, and found the injured teenager. Fischer was wearing no helmet or protective gear, police said.
Wathen said it is believed Fischer was driving the ATV from his mother's house to his grandmother's home.
Fischer was airlifted to UK, where he was originally listed in critical condition.
Fischer is now in a private room and expected to make a full recovery.
