Drug crime dominates 31 indictments

March 6, 2013 — Most of the 31 indictments handed down by a Carter County grand jury on Feb. 22 were drug related.

Ten individuals face more than one trafficking charge, including:

Jennifer Rose, 38, of Olive Hill, two counts of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, both Class D felonies.

Charles Cooley, 35, of Olive Hill, two counts of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second offense, and having a prior felony drug trafficking conviction, both Class C felonies.

James D. Claxton, 35, of Carter County, two counts of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, both Class C felonies.

Angela Tackett, 42, of Olive Hill, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class D felony, and one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

Dana O’Dell Robinson, 24, of Carter County, two counts of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

David Hale, 49, of Carter County, two counts of trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, both Class D felonies.

Charles Cooley, 35, of Olive Hill, two counts of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, both Class C felonies.

Allen Dwayne Gee, 34, of Olive Hill, two counts of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, both Class C felonies.

Shannon Porter, 37, of Olive Hill, two counts of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II control substance, both Class C felonies.

Christopher Lee Pope, 28, of Grayson, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony and one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Also indicted were:

Paula Hamilton, 36, of Morehead, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

James Smith, 31, of Greenup, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

Charles D. Leadingham, 31, of Olive Hill, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Ramona Carroll, 42, of Grayson, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

Michael A. Porter, 30, of Olive Hill, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

Karen Young, 56, of Grayson, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Diana Roberts, 40, of Grayson, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Greg “Bubba” McQuade, 42, of Carter County, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

James R. Fraley, 47, of Carter County, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

Richard Griffith, 55, of Carter County, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class C felony.

Barbara Simpson, 66, of Carter County, one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Tracy Griffith, 45, of Carter County one count of first degree trafficking in a Schedule II controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Timothy Woods, 33, of Rush, and Patrick Parsons, 44, of Grayson, one count of manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B felony.

Heather Dartey, 35, of Grayson, on one count of possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony, and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, a Class B misdemeanor.

Janet King, 30, of Olive Hill, one count of possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony.

Steven Harper, 46, of Grayson, two counts of being a persistent felony offender, both Class B felonies.

Jeremy Michael Stewart, 38, of Grayson, theft by unlawful taking, a Class D felony.

Michael C. Rolston, 26, of Grayson, theft by unlawful taking, a Class D felony.

Vanessa Gollihue, 21, of Grayson, second degree burglary, a Class C felony.

John F. Johnson, 41, of Grayson, two counts of theft by unlawful taking, both Class D felonies.

The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
