April 2, 2014 — A Carter County grand jury handed down five indictments on March 21.
Those indicted were:
Derrick Scott Ison, 24, of Grayson, on one count of second degree burglary, a Class C felony. Ison also faces two Class A misdemeanors, violation of an EPO and fourth degree assault.
Brandi L. Beam, 41, of Olive Hill, on one count of forgery of a prescription of a controlled substance, phentermine, and one count of criminal possession of a prescription blank, both Class D felonies.
Steven D. McWhorter, 32, of London, on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500, a class D felony.
Ralph Binion, 39, of Olive Hill, on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500, a Class D felony.
Christina M. Dugan, 24, of Florence, on one count of first degree criminal mischief, by intentionally damaging a hotel room, with more than $1,000 worth of damage, a Class D felony.
The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only. That person is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the state must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
