Star Market has another reason to shine

Feb. 13, 2013 — A locally owned “mom and pop” business in Rush will no longer just be known just for their home-cooked, jam packed menu. Now they are able to offer something else to their local customers.

Star Market customers will now be able to purchase stamps, and use the “if it fits, it ships” shipping options in addition to picking up hot food and grocery items.

The owners, Harvey and Linda Davis and John and Michelle Evans, are excited about the new addition to their location.

“Now people are coming in to pick up a stamp, they are picking up a loaf of bread or whatever else they need,” says Linda Davis.

They are still awaiting the arrival of their drop box for out front, and are assured it is on its way.

Davis believes that their extended hours will really help their customers who may have issues reaching a full size postal location.

The Postal Service recently announced Saturday cut backs, adding more issues to an uncertain future. But expansion into locally owned, established businesses may be a great move.

Customers can visit Star Market seven days a week, Monday through Wednesday 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday and Friday 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
