Dance studio owner assaulted, robbed

Jan. 30, 2013 — The proprietor of a Carter County dance studio was assaulted and robbed as she was closing her business on Thursday.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at Center Stage Studio in Grayson, Kentucky State Police at Ashland said.

According to the KSP, the owner was in the process of closing when she was assaulted by an unknown man. The woman fought back, but the robber grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot with another suspect.

The victim suffered minor head and facial injuries during the struggle, the KSP said.

The robber was described as Caucasian, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a brown Carhartt coat and a dark-colored toboggan. A description of the second suspect was not available.

No weapons were used during the robbery.
