July 10, 2013 — An Ashland man nearly drowned in Grayson Lake late Monday afternoon.
Thomas Livingston, 24, was swimming off the bank of Deer Creek near KY 1496 when witnesses say he started having trouble in the water.
According to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Livingston was pulled from the water by a bystander.
Once on land, someone performed CPR until Carter County EMS arrived.
Livingston was transported to Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland and later to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.
At press time Tuesday, Livingston's condition was unknown.
The incident remains under investigation.
