Aug. 28, 2013 — A Morehead man escaped serious injury on Monday when he wrecked his drilling rig near Carter City.
Brian Stevens, 45, was traveling on Carter Caves Road toward KY 2 when his brakes went out.
Stevens crossed KY 2 and into a field on the other side of the road. The rig went through a garage and came to a stop when it hit a tree.
Stevens had to be extracted from the vehicle by Carter City and Olive Hill firefighters. He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington where he was treated and released.
He was driving a drill rig owned by Highwall Drilling, Inc., of Morehead.
