OCT. 18, 2013 — Olive Hill City Council unanimously voted Tuesday night to hire former Commonwealth Attorney Gary Conn succeed George Hogg as the city’s attorney.
Earlier in the week, Mayor Kenny Fankell informed the Journal-Times of Hogg’s plans to retire effective Oct. 31, but did not reveal his recommendation for Hogg’s replacement until Tuesday’s Council meeting.
Hogg has served as the city’s legal counsel since 2003.
Conn had most recently served as the Commonweath’s Attorney for Carter, Elliot, and Morgan counties, but lost his re-election bid to Brandon Ison last fall.
His tenure will begin effective Nov. 1, at which point he will be compensated a flat rate of $125 per hour for legal services provided to the city.
