Auditor’s website drops housing, adds library

Journal-Times

Dec. 19, 2012 —     State Auditor Adam Edelen’s special districts website has removed the Olive Hill Housing Authority and added the Carter County Public Library.

Olive Hill and other housing authorities in Kentucky had insisted that they are federally regulated and not subject to state oversight.

Carter County’s public library was added despite the fact it has no taxing authority.

The library receives funding from Carter Fiscal Court, from the cities of Grayson and Olive Hill, from the state library department and from grants and private gifts.
