An Olive Hill man was arrested Sunday for assault near the scene of a fire.
Kentucky State Police responded to a request for assistance from the Olive Hill Fire Department on Greenbriar Road in Olive Hill.
The OHFD was on the scene of a structure fire and witnessed what appeared to be an altercation between individuals at a nearby residence.
Information obtained during the investigation revealed Johnny Canterbury and Curtis Sloan engaged in a verbal argument over the structure fire and a physical altercation then occurred.
Sloan was transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries to his head and face.
Canterbury refused medical assistance on scene and was arrested without incident.
The cause of the structure fire is currently under investigation.
Canterbury, 27, was arrested on a charge of second degree assault. He was lodged in the Carter County Detention Center under a $20,000 cash bond.
The case remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Bryant Marcum.
