Assault suspect found in Carter

Dec. 25, 2013 — Carter County sheriff’s deputies have apprehended a dangerous fugitive.

Aaron Uhlmann, 43, of Webbville, was apprehended by Deputy James Frint on Sunday morning and is now lodged in the Carter County Detention Center.

Frint said he saw Uhlmann in the parking lot of the Carter County Detention Center and was able to arrest him without incident.

Deputies say Uhlmann was wanted on multiple charges including assault and domestic violence.

He allegedly called 911 on Friday and told dispatchers he had beaten his wife. When law enforcement arrived, he was nowhere to be found.

Uhlmann was believed to be armed and dangerous, since he is known to possess firearms. Shotgun shells were found in the vehicle in which he fled.

Uhlmann later stole a pickup truck and was believed to be headed toward Carter County.

The victim was flown to a trauma center where she reportedly remained in the intensive care unit on Saturday but no other information is available on her condition.

Uhlmann was transported to the Big Sandy Regional Jail shortly after his arrest.
