June 4, 2014 —
The Olive Hill Chamber is pleased to announce the theme for the 2014 Chamber of Commerce Homecoming:
“Connecting our Community – One Generation at a Time.”
The committee is recognizing the impact youth are making in the community. Several groups and organizations are working with youth developing leadership skills and involving them in volunteerism.
One in particular is representing the positive impression youth are creating in the area.
The West Carter High School Student Y-Club is a community service organization that is dedicated to giving back to our community and instilling a love of Kentucky in all of our members. They operate under the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association.
In the 2013-2014 school year they performed over 1,800 hours of community service, attended 6 conferences, and received multiple awards and recognitions.
In the recent school year, the Y-Club was successful under the leadership of Andrea Wolfe and Kristen Evans and officers Alexandria Knipp, Andrew Henderson, Victoria Layne, Zach James, and Emaley Russell.
