Jan. 16, 2013 —

A cholesterol pill was found inside a salad from Wendy’s on Friday in Grayson.

Witnesses say an order was placed at the drive-through window for the staff of a local business around lunch time. When one of the salads was opened, a woman found a pill inside.

Police were on the scene Friday afternoon and took the salad and the pill into custody.

Danny Lynch, Senior Vice President of Communication for Wendy’s said that authorities told him the pill was commonly taken for cholesterol. Lynch said no one in the preparation part of the restaurant admitted to taking a prescription for that kind of medication.

“We took the claim very seriously and are cooperating with the police in their investigation,” Lynch said. “The salads are made fresh in the restaurant. We are unsure of how the pill ended up in the salad, but we refunded the cost of the salad to the customer as requested.”

The Wendy’s in Grayson is owned by the company, not a franchise restaurant.
