23 arrested in multi-agency roundup

Dec. 26, 2012 —     Carter County sheriff's deputies, with the help of Grayson police, Olive Hill police and Kentucky State Police, picked up 23 persons on outstanding warrants last week.

Sheriff Casey Brammell said that a combination of Family Court and older warrants needed to be served.

Transport teams from the Carter County Detention Center also assisted in the roundup.

“We had a list of 158 people to pick up,” Brammell said. “Family Court warrants aren't on the E-warrants system. Not everyone has access to the paper ones, so my biggest concern was to get through the paper warrants and give other agencies access to them.”

Brammell said that building rapport with the other agencies also was a goal of the roundup and that things worked out very well.

The sheriff expected to spend more time looking for the wanted individuals during the weekend.

At press time, the following had been arrested:

Tommy Duncan, 32, of Olive Hill; Phillip Johnson, 27, of Olive Hill; Phillip Zornes, 23, of Olive Hill; Darrell J. Wilson, 49, of Grayson; Denise Spillman, 30, of Denton; Arthur Swanigan, 68, of Olive Hill; Shane James, 42, of Grayson; Adam Lucas, 31, of Denton; Latina Knipp, 27, of Olive Hill; Michelle Gollihue, 31, of Grayson; Penny Murphy, 44, of Olive Hill; David Withrow, 22, of Hitchins[ Lillian Martin,40, of Olive Hill; James Brown, 27, of Olive Hill; Jonathon Phillips, 23, of Grayson; James Liles, 26, of Olive Hill; Morgan McDavid, 21, of Willard; Barbara Owens, 25, of Grayson; Robert Barker, 43, of Grayson; April Blevins, 26, of Grayson; Michelle Carter, 24, of Morehead; Kimberly Beamen, 32, of Clearfield; and Anna Stamper, 28, of Olive Hill.
