Candidates take a stand

Oct. 24, 2012 — Election day is less than two weeks away. Most of the country is focused on the Presidential race, but in Carter County, local races are also important.

On Friday night, the Olive Hill Chamber of Commerce will host a cadidate forum for the City Council race at Olive Hill Elementary School from 6-8 p.m. Each candidate will be give three set questions, and one that will be chosen randomly.

The candidates in Olive Hill were asked what they feel is the most important issue for the council to address. Their responses can be found on Page D-6 of the Oct. 24 issue of the Olive Hill Times and the Grayson Journal-Enquirer.

Although they are not holding a forum, the Grayson City Council candidates also wanted to share their ideas about the future. They were asked to expalin, in less than 300 words, what they stood for as a potential council member.

Editors note: Olive Hill City Councilmen Allen Stapelton and Jerry Callihan did not turn in a written response to the Journal-Times.
