Veterans' Day festivities set

Nov. 6, 2013 — With Veterans' Day coming up Monday, several ceremonies honoring veterans will take place this week and next.

Several school programs are scheduled Monday.

Tygart Creek Elementary will have a program at 9 a.m. at which students will present poems, songs and skits to invited guests. All veterans are invited to attend.

The West Carter High School JROTC will be conducting a program including the Presentation of Colors, POW/MIA Table Ceremony and more.

The program will be presented at West Carter Middle School at 9:30 a.m. and then repeated at the high school later that day.

On Wednesday, East Carter High School's hospitality class will host a breakfast for veterans and their families at 8 a.m. All veterans are welcome to attend.

East Carter’s JROTC will conduct a veterans day program in the gym at 9 a.m.

Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church will honor veterans on Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. service. The West Carter JROTC will present a program.
