8 indicted by Carter County grand jury

Dec. 4, 2013 — A Carter County grand jury handed down eight indictments on Nov. 22.

Two Grayson men were indicted for scrapping stolen tractor trailers worth more than $250,000.

Christopher Bush, 35, and Ronnie L. Whitt, 35, both of Grayson, were named on one count of receiving stolen property over $10,000, a Class C felony.

Bush also was indicted on Nov. 8 for two counts of theft of a firearm by unlawful taking, a Class D felony.

Also indicted were:

James R. Claxon, 51, of Grayson, on one count of trafficking in marijuana while having a prior conviction for trafficking in marijuana, a class D felony.

Claxon was also indicted on one count of trafficking in a scheduled III controlled substance, also a Class D felony.

Christopher Bradley, 22, of Olive Hill, on three counts of receiving a stolen firearm, all Class D felonies. 

Boyd Littleton, 21, of Olive Hill, on second degree escape and tampering with a prisioner monitoring device, both class D felonies. He also was indicted on second degree persistent felony offense, a class C felony. 

Jerry Webb, 47, of Mansfield, Ohio, on one count of first degree robbery and one count of first degree assault, both Class B felonies. 

Kelly Ray Click, 31, and Brian Keith Adkins, 45, both of Louisa, on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500, a Class D felony.

Adkins also was indicted on one count of first degree wanton endangerment, also a class D felony. 

The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only. That person is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the state must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
