Laber indicted for non-compliance

Dec. 18, 2013 — An Olive Hill man has been indicted for failure to comply with the sex offender registry.

A Carter grand jury indicted Mark Joseph Laber, 49, on Dec. 6 for allegedly violating the sex offender registration act by not updating his current address in September.

According to the court file, Laber was convicted of three counts of second degree sodomy in October 1995.

A case in which Laber was accused of kidnapping a minor was dismissed in 2008.

Another case, filed in August 2012, in which Laber is accused of using a social network is currently pending appeal.
