Indictments handed down

April 30, 2008 The Carter County Grand Jury handed down several indictments on April 22.

• Gary D. Hopkins, 36, of West U.S. 60, Olive Hill, was indicted on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse involving two children under the age of 12.

• Terri Gilbert, 27, with the address of Black Hollow, Grayson, was indicted on one count of first-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools and fourth-degree assault. Also, Terri Gilbert, 27, with the address Tom T. Hall Blvd., Olive Hill, was indicted on two counts of second-degree forgery for forging a name on two checks totaling $390.99.

• Travis Wade McGuire, 27, of North Hord Street, Grayson, was indicted on one count of first-degree fleeing or evading police, one count of third-degree burglary, leaving the scene of an accident, theft by unlawful taking over $300., third-degree criminal mischief, no insurance and careless driving.

• Joseph T. Blanton, age unknown, of Fairview Ave., Jasper, Indiana, was indicted on 10 counts including two counts of first-degree possession of the controlled substance Oxycodone, third-degree possession of Alprazolam, first-degree trafficking of Oxycodone, operating a motor vehicle under influence of drugs, operating a vehicle without a fastening seatbelt, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, operating a vehicle without insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possessing controlled substance not in original container.

• Joshua Harris, 26, of Oakland Ridge, Olive Hill was indicted on one count of second-degree possession of the controlled substance Alprazolam and one count of possession of controlled substance not in original container.

• Mark K. Buckler of Buckler Lane, Olive Hill was indicted on first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, second offense, second-degree persistent felony offender, and having one headlight.

• Bobby Conn, age unknown, of Vernon Jones Memorial Drive, Olive Hill was indicted on one count of second-degree burglary, one count of third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief for damaging property worth over $1,000.

• Sheila Peyton, age unknown, Olive Hill was indicted on one count of first-degree forgery when she forged a signature on a government check and cashed it in the amount of $154.86.

• Mark Cox, age and address unknown, was indicted on one count of first-degree fleeing or evading police.

• Billy Shepard, age unknown, Olive Hill, and Dustin Liles, age unknown, Olive Hill were indicted on one count each of second-degree burglary for burglarizing Stevens Jewelry Shop.

• Amanda B. Kimmell, 19, of Highway 1, Grayson, was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $300; possession of a forged instrument and second-degree forgery on a check in the amount of $150.

• James C. Morlan, 37, of Strawberry Lane, Olive Hill, was indicted on one count of first-degree fleeing or evading police.
