KSP drug round-up

March 12, 2008 — Kentucky State Police in Ashland conducted a "Drug Round-up" over a two month period after an extensive long-term investigation into illegal drug activity in the four county region of Post 14 which encompasses Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties. Over the last six months, authorities from KSP at Post 14 have worked conducted investigations into suspected illegal drug trafficking in this area and have subsequently received indictments for various charges stemming from this lengthy investigation. Troopers began the arrests mid- January and continued through early March 2008.

Those from Carter County arrested were:

• Jeffery Fryer. DOB: 01/31/1977. 1 count Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st. Carter County

• Jody Harper. DOB: 09/04/1972. 10 counts Obtaining controlled substance by fraud. Carter County

• Gary Sloas. DOB: 02/16/1966. 14 counts Obtaining controlled substance by fraud. Carter County

• Larry Joe Hall DOB: 02/24/1962. 26 counts Attempting to obtain controlled substance by fraud / Persistent Felony Offender 1st. Carter County

• Donald Young DOB: 12/22/1964. 6 counts Obtaining controlled substance by fraud. Carter County

• John Evans DOB: 04/26/1926. 10 counts Obtaining controlled substance by fraud. Carter County
