    My name is Orville W. Skaggs, Jr. I was born in Grayson in 1947 and went to Gregoryville and Locust schools and Prichard High School. I am now in Inman, SC. As of December 2012 I was told I had bladder cancer and have been treated for it ever since.

  • East Carter band impresses at annual concerts

    The ECHS Raider Band takes the field at every home football game and performs patriotic and rousing music for the crowd’s enjoyment and we appreciate them for all the effort that goes into these events. But if you want to hear the band really perform you must attend one of their three annual concerts.

    Having attended the zoning board meeting referred to in this article it must be pointed out that the Zoning Board did not approve or give seal of approval to this venture, it was determined that it was within existing zoning regulations.

    As a nurse, I urge state law makers to enact a smoke-free law, which would greatly benefit the health of our state. Secondhand smoke is a proven cause of death and disease in nonsmokers.
