In favor of Carter Christian Academy

Journal-Times

March 27, 2013 — The editor:

This letter is written to the parents, grandparents and citizens of Carter County who believe our children’s future is dependent on their knowledge of Math, Reading, History, Science and the Bible. I ask you to remember the days when you began the school day with the “Pledge of Allegiance” to the U.S. Flag then followed by “the Lord’s Prayer.”

There is a place in Carter County where children are taught respect along with Reading, Writing and Math, where they are taught that God created the Heavens and the Earth and our existence was not just a lucky mistake in nature. There is a place where every student is treated as “the most important student in the school” and, yes, a place where a parent or grandparent is expected to be a part of the child's education, curriculum formation and implementation.

Carter Christian Academy: It is advertised as a “Christ Centered Education School” but in my opinion it is much more. Carter Christian Academy represents what I and many believe is a true representative of what we hope a school would mean for the family and the student.

For those of you and the churches that have fought and fight daily to get prayer back in our schools and realize the deterioration of our society since prayer was removed from our school by the courts, this school is a victory. Each school day begins with prayer and a weekly chapel, where student and teachers pray and rejoice in Christ instead of learning the new birth control methods or L.B.G.T.

Please visit the schools website carterchristianacademy.org. Pay special attention to their goals, profile and philosophy. Think of what you child’s future is worth. I urge each Christian, church or group to support this school.
