Dec. 19, 2012 —
We would like to show our appreciation to the businesses and individuals who donated to our 11th annual Shop with A Cop program this year. Each year we have taken local children shopping with the help of these generous community minded donors, making the holiday season brighter for many families and children in our community.
We owe a great deal of gratitude to Grayson Pizza Hut and Grayson K-Mart for always providing great accommodations on our shopping day. We are very grateful for the employees of the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers at Olive Hill Elementary, West Carter Middle and High Schools for the assistance they provide us each year. Last, but not least, a special thank you goes out to David Lee for helping Santa show up this year for the children.
Again, thanks to these businesses: Superior Foods, Porter Tire Sales, First National Bank, Fishers Auto Sales, Globe Funeral Chapel, Sturgill's Music Center, Napa Auto Parts, Tackett’s Furniture, American Legion Post 138, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 138, Dairy Queen, The Hair Quarters, Walker’s Grill, Smith Hardware, Arnold Hamilton Furniture, Sally’s Flowers, Tyler’s Pizza, Upper Tygart Mini Mart and Flowers By Jeannie.
We also want to recognize Linda Lowe, Bud Stamper, Jeff and Felice Jarrell, Art Barker, Mike and Charlotte Barker, Randy and Sherry Campbell, Wilson and Linda Maggard, John and Edna Kitchen and Joe Ruley as well as all the anonymous donors who donated at our collection boxes.
On behalf of the members of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #72, we appreciate your generosity and wish you all a joyous holiday season!

Alcohol sales would hurt Olive Hill
I am 64 years old and I have lived in the city limits of Olive Hill my entire life. I have seen Olive Hill when it was prosperous and I have seen it when it was not so prosperous.
Against liquor sales in Olive Hill
Along the roadways of our little town, we see signs urging us to vote YES for legal liquor sales in Olive Hill. Sadly, we see no signs urging us to vote NO!
In appreciation of Pastor Barrell
Some members of the Lower Grassy Church of Christ, in my opinion, should hang their heads in shame. On February 23, 2014 a wonderful man of God and their Pastor Larry Barrell was dismissed from preaching.
Thanks for contributing to Operation Christmas Child
I’m writing to thank Grayson residents for their generosity in helping thousands of suffering children worldwide this Christmas.
Seeking ancestry information
I am searching for relatives from the Olive Hill and Grayson area in the 1800s and early 1900s.
Memory Days planning begins
I am seeking Carter County organizations with members or board members from both sides of the county.
Commending Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation
I would like to thank a moment and say thanks to Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation for the excellent care they gave my mother.

Another Project Merry Christmas has come and gone. It was its thirty-first year. Over a thousand Carter countians received a good Christmas on Dec. 21 when over fifty volunteers distributed toys, clothing, books, and food in three hours time to over 300 families.
