Jan. 16, 2013 —
Just a few weeks ago the students and families at East Carter Middle School participated in a school wide challenge to assist the Youth Services Center in raising funds and acquiring canned goods for local families in need. The total monetary amount raised was $1,168.00 and with the food that was also donated, about 55 families were provided Thanksgiving food baskets that included turkeys and all the trimmings for a Thanksgiving meal.
Kudos to all the students and parents here at ECMS, as well as the Hot Shots family, at ECMS, for bringing in almost 7,000 points to win the competition. All of those helping with the food drive are so appreciative of all the students, staff, and family members who contributed to those in need during these hard times. Students are making a difference here at ECMS and 2013 will be filled with more great things from our students!
