Olive Hill is preparing for its Trail Town "trial run" this coming Saturday. It is an important part of the process leading up to certification as an official KY Trail Town. Trail user groups of all types -- cycling, hiking, horseback riding & paddling -- are invited to come spend the day with us and then evaluate their experience. Many people have said that Olive Hill is one of the friendliest places they've ever visited! We want to do everything we can to extend that hospitality to all our guests.
On behalf of the Olive Hill Trail Town Task Force, I'm encouraging our whole community to be aware of this special day, and to do a few things that may help make our visitors feel welcome:
If you own a business, consider putting a "Welcome Trail Guests" sign in your window,
Lnow where the trailhead is -- it's the Depot.
Know the address of our community website, where folks can get trail information, events calendar and more -- it's www.olive-hill.org.
Join in a community-wide effort to rid ourselves of litter -- if you're in a position to pick it up, why not just do it?
Many groups and individuals have contributed to the Trail Town initiative, and I will attempt to express my humble gratitude later. But meanwhile. . . let's make Saturday a success! We can do this, together!
