East Carter band impresses at annual concerts

Oct. 30, 2013 — The editor:

The ECHS Raider Band takes the field at every home football game and performs patriotic and rousing music for the crowd’s enjoyment and we appreciate them for all the effort that goes into these events. But if you want to hear the band really perform you must attend one of their three annual concerts. We just attended their Pops Concert held at the Oak Grove Church of Christ which included the 76 members of the combined Middle & High School Bands under the direction of Logan Skidmore with a standing room only crowd.

The concert included a wide range of music. We heard patriotic, classical, jazz and even a Beatles number! All this at no charge! Mr. Skidmore is introducing and teaching our students not only to love all kinds of music but how to bring all their talent together and make amazingly beautiful and inspirational music. To see just how accomplished the band is plan now to attend their Christmas Concert Dec. 17 at Kentucky Christian University where they will be joined by the ECHS Choir. For more information visit www.eastcarterraiderband.weebly.com and/or their page on facebook “East Carter Raider Band”.
