Editor,
I would like to invite everyone to the livestock shows and auction this week at the Carter County Fair. All of the livestock exhibitors would appreciate it if you would come show your support of our shows and auction. The livestock shows will be August 4, for cattle, August 5, for lambs, chickens, and rabbits, and August 6, for goats and hogs. The shows begin at 6 p.m. The livestock auction will be August 7, registration and dinner will begin at 5 p.m. The auction will be at 6 p.m. My little brother and sister will be showing their goats. My big brother, Kenneth, and I will be showing our feeder calves and steers. I hope to see you at the fair. If you would like to make a donation but not attend the shows or the auction you can make the check out to Carter County Youth Livestock and mail it to Carter County Youth Livestock C/O Kim Flaugher, Livestock Chairman, 3450 State Highway 1496, Grayson, KY 41143.

McDonald’s of Grayson would like to thank the Carter County Cruisers, Carter County Old Time Machinery Assc, All Sponsors, Cruzin Chris, WUGO, Wizards of Dance, All who participated by bringing their cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Also our McDonald’s crew.
Our 15th Annual Car Show was a great success for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Carter County Schools held the 7th “Welcome Back” Breakfast at West Carter High School on July 30, 2008.
Several individuals were recognized at the breakfast but I would like to take this opportunity to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to the following businesses that sponsored our awards and donated door prizes: Commercial Bank, First National Bank, City National Bank, McDonalds, Go Radio, All American Graphics, Farmer’s True Value Hardware, Grayson RECC, Diva’s Salon & Spa, Carter Caves Golf Shop, City Florist, Hitchin Post & Bluegrass Express Mart, Horton & Brown, Lighthouse Frames & Gallery, Super 8 Motel, Ramona Salyer – State Farm Insurance, and Homespun Sisters.
