KCU men start slow

Nov. 9, 2011 —     The Kentucky Christian University men’s basketball team got off to a difficult start in 2011, losing the season opener to Alice Lloyd, 94-72.

Inexperience and poor shooting wore down the Knights, allowing Alice Lloyd to control the game.

2011 is a bit of a rebuilding year for the KCU men. The Knights lost five valuable seniors from the 2010 squad and are still looking for players to fill the void left by last year’s starters.

Things did not get easier for the Knights as they traveled last night (after press time) to battle the University of Pikeville.

UPike is the defending NAIA National Champion. UPike dominated KCU when the two met last November, with the Knights come up on the short end of a 107-74 game.
