Newkirk and Clowes named preseason All-Americans

June 19, 2013 — The Kentucky Christian University football team has two standouts named to the NAIA Preseason All-American team.

The website footballgameplan.com, which covers the sport at all levels, named Marvin Newkirk III and Blake Clowes to the list.

Newkirk is a senior from South Fork High School in Indiantown, Fla. He is 6’0”, wears #97 for the Knights, and splits time between down tackle and defensive end.

Clowes is a junior offensive lineman from Hilliard Darby High School in Hilliard, Ohio. He is 6’2” and wears #74.

Gene Peterson, KCU head coach, spoke about these two players:

“It is a great honor for these two young men to be nominated as a Pre-Season All-American. They have great work habits and are highly respected by their teammates. Not only are they great players, they are great representatives of Kentucky Christian University.”
