The football Knights wrapped up the home season Saturday with a 25-13 loss to 7-2 Bethel.
The loss drops Kentucky Christian University to 3-7 on the year.
KCU’s Corbin Olson got things started for the Knights with a 40-yard score. Bethel quickly tied the game. Both PATs were blocked, putting the score at 6-6.
KCU freshman Graham Johnston struck back with a 19-yard pass to Rance Hughes. Bethel responded and added two field goals to take a 19-13 lead into the break.
The Bethel D owned the second half, forcing three KCU turnovers. Bethel recovered a fumble and picked Johnston twice to take the win.
Bethel added two more three-pointers, setting the final at 25-13.
KCU honored six seniors prior to the game. Beau Dailey, Brantley Purcell, Andre Brooks, Matt Prewitt, Clyde Manuel and Tyrone Young were recognized for their contributions the growth of the KCU football program.
The Knights go on the road Saturday to close the regular season against the University of Pikeville.
