Pettrey to hold camp in Grayson

May 29, 2013 — Aaron Pettrey is still hanging out between the hash marks.

The former Raceland and Ohio State star kicker, who had a brief stint in the NFL,is now teaching others his fine-tuned craft.

Pettrey will hold a kicking camp at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson on June 30.

Over the past year, he has conducted one-on-one lessons for aspiring kickers and five of his students are already kicking in college.

Pettrey and his instructing partner, Doug Chavis, have set up three small camps, including the KCU one, in Ohio and Kentucky.

The events will likely have a 20-camper limit in order to secure more one-on-one interaction.

Check-in will begin at 1 p.m. and the camp will last approximately six hours. There will be a one-hour break for dinner. Cost is $195.

Pettrey was an outstanding placekicker at Ohio State from 2006-09. He signed with three different NFLteams, including the Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals.

He played in two regular-season games for the Bengals.

While in high school, the Raceland Ram nailed a state-best 58-yard field goal. He also set a state record for career completion percentage (71.3) at the quarterback position.
