14-0 for the Lady Knights

Dec. 21, 2011 —     The Lady Knights basketball team completed the first half of their season last Saturday afternoon when they defeated Moody Bible Institute by a score of 64-38.

Team defense controlled the tough post play of Moody Bible. The Lady Knights were able to win the game with a commanding presence on the boards, out rebounding the visiting team 64-38.

The win against Moody Bible kept the Lady Knights at 14-0 for the season. It is notable that six of the Lady Knights 14 wins have come against very tough NAIA opponents. Five of the Lady Knights 14 wins have come against NCCAA opponents that are ranked in the top 20 of the nation.

The Lady Knights aren’t just winning because they have skilled offensive personnel. They are defeating top-ranked competition because they are a providing a well-balanced team effort.

KCU currently rank in the top three of six statistical categories kept by the NCCAA.  The Lady Knights have their sights set on another NCCAA Championship. By doing so well statistically they are definitely not hurting their chances.

With the win, KCU’s ladies now have a long break for Christmas before they step back on the floor later in the month to prepare for the final stretch of the season.

If the Lady Knight’s are able to run the table it would mark the first undefeated in the successful career of long-time KCU Women’s Head Coach Ron Arnett.
