“I want this team to be successful, and I want my players to believe they can be successful,” Furrey said. “This stadium and its progression means a lot to our staff and our kids, and hopefully this will give us the pride a team needs when it takes the field in front of its home crowd.”
Support from several different sponsors has helped to make the Knights new home a reality.
Furrey closed by thanking all of those involved in the process, saying he is grateful for all they have done.
“Some friends have stepped up to make this thing possible, and for that our team is very thankful,” Furrey said. “In order for your program to move forward, good things have to happen to it. This is hopefully just the beginning of the good things to come for KCU football.
Furrey and his Knights hope to grace their new home field when the 2012 KCU football season kicks of on August 25 in the home opener against Lindsey Wilson College in Grayson.
