Kentucky Christian University volleyball lost last week to Maranatha Baptist, ending a strong year for the Lady Knights.
KCU handled regional competition all year on its way to the National Championship Tournament.
KCU entered the first segment of the tournament, known as “pool play,” by defeating Philadelphia Biblical University, 3-1. KCU lost its second match to Lincoln Christian University, 3-2.
KCU began the next round of pool play by taking on 10th-seeded Florida Christian. The Lady Knights cruised through the match, winning in straight sets, 3-0.
They weren’t so lucky in the next game.
KCU was dispatched by second-seeded Marantha Baptist, 3-0, ending 2011 for the Lady Knights.
Kentucky Christian wrapped up the year with a final record of 31-11 and a Division II, Mideast Region Championship.
