Feb. 12, 2014 — The Kentucky Christian men’s basketball team hosted Ohio University-Chillicothe on Monday night in Grayson.
The Knights jumped out to a big lead and never looked back as they defeated the Hilltoppers 104-62.
After giving up the first basket of the game, Tyler Farley hit three straight baskets and Ace Puckett would extend the lead. They would then go on scoring in bunches to lead 65-29 at the half as part of shooting 74 percent from the field and an even better 76.9 percent from beyond the arc.
The Knights finished the game hitting almost 60 percent (43-of-72) from the field and 13-of-29 from three point range in the victory.
Caleb Ford’s 25 points led one of six Knights in double figures. Farley finished with 21 points in the win.
Ford also had nine rebounds and two assists. Ros Goodwin had 12 off the bench, Dylan Genung and Adam Hopkins each had 11 points, while Genung added three assists. Boyce Wooten had 10 points, nine boards and three assists in only 14 minutes on the court. James Chafins had six points and four rebounds.
Trevor Hunt had five points and Ace Puckett had three points, but they accounted for seven assists, four rebounds, and three steals between them. Tyler Carrier had a strong performance with nine assists and two rebounds and only two turnovers on the night.
The Knights were stellar on defense, limiting the Hilltoppers to just 39 percent from the floor.
With the win, the Knights improve to 9-13 on the season. Kentucky Christian began a four-game road trip Tuesday night when they traveled to West Virginia University-Parkersburg. They will play at Morthland College Friday night.
